Orphaned at birth, Gundula was raised as a daughter to Duke Boragus. Upon learning that he was not her true father, she joined the military, hoping to die an honorable death in battle. It hasn't happened, and she has become a feared leader in the military.

Some may find the information in this section subjective or irrelevant.

Typically Crag Hack is praised for his offense specialty, and as a barbarian he does receive higher attack and defense ratings than Gundula. In small and medium maps Crag Hack is probably a better hero, but in large and extra large maps the fact that barbarians can not learn water magic may become an issue. In this case, Gundula may be a wiser choice for a hero. Either way, Gundula's specialty definitely makes her one of the most powerful heroes.
